2016-2017 MARCHING SEASON SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT

This year's show features songs from the bands Chicago and Earth Wind and Fire - including:
- In the Stone (EWF)
- Hard to Say I'm Sorry/Get Away (Chicago)
- Make Me Smile (Chicago)

ATTENTION ALL MARCHING BAND MEMBERS

Thank you for all of your hard work over the summer. We are looking forward to a great season full of outstanding performances, exciting football games, educational rehearsals and eye-opening festivals/competitions. It is our pleasure to announce that we will be participating in our third annual marching band competition at Bergenfield High School on Sunday, October 9, 2016.
This will be a part of the USBANDS circuit and we will be competing as a GROUP III Class "A" school.
The festival begins at 12:30pm and our performance time is to be announced.
In addition, we will be participating once again in the North Jersey Band Festival on Sunday, October 30, 2016.
This festival will begin at 4:30pm. We have not yet been instructed as to what time we will performn, but as details become available, we will post them for you.
Throughout the season, we will have several Tuesday night and Saturday afternoon rehearsals as well as weekly football game halftime performances. Please check the schedule and plan vacations, appointments, tutors and other activities accordingly.

GENERAL MARCHING BAND REHEARSAL THOUGHTS

- Proper attire: Sneakers with socks, comfortable clothes to march in, sunscreen.

- Make sure to eat before rehearsals and stay well-hydrated. There will be breaks during rehearsal to hydrate, so bring liquids.

- Materials: Bring printouts of all your music/information and drill charts that have been handed out. Each member should have 3-ring binder containing all materials. There will be notebook checks this year.

- Music Preparation: Please make sure to work on the music you have been provided with.
You will need to memorize all of this music, so it is important that you get a head start on the music and work on it on your own.

- Attendance: In the event of need for any absence, please fill out an absence excuse for and hand it in early. **Remember, absence notes must be received at least 2 days in advance in order to be excused.
You can email it to Mr. Verderese or place in his mailbox at school. Also, please make sure so be on time for all rehearsals as attendance is a part of your grade.
