Sight-Reading Information

Each time we begin a new scale, we will begin a new rhythm and sightreading sheet in the key of that scale

We will learn how to count the rhythms as well as play the notes.
On the Bb Level 1 sheet, we will explore whole notes and half notes in the key of concert Bb. Whole notes are worth 4 beats and half notes are worth 2 beats.
When counting whole and half notes, make sure to hold the note through the 2nd (3rd and 4th for whole notes) beats.
If you do not hold the note out, then you are actually inserting a "rest," which is a period of silence.
