Tri-M Music Honor Society
Those who are eligible will be notified during the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year and will receive an acceptance letter.
In order to qualify for or remain as a member of Tri-M, each candidate/member must:
1. Maintain a minimum School GPA of "3.45."
2. Maintain a minimum music department GPA of "3.7."
3. Perform in at least 1 musical ensemble at CHS outside of Concert Band or Concert Choir. This ensemble responsibility must be met for the entire year. Students may not join for half a year and then leave the group. Exceptions are only made at the teacher's discretion if a student joins a group and then is not needed due to the choice of literature for the season. (i.e. Bass Clarinet in orchestra or other examples). Additionally, if the ensemble is a seasonal ensemble such as marching band or pit orchestra, that group will count as a full year ensemble.
4. Put in 10 or more hours of community service (music related) before Memorial Day. Opportunities for hours are made available throughout the year as they arise.
NEW MEMBERS must meet all the above requirements as well as:
1. Perform a pre-approved solo or small ensemble piece for Mr. Verderese, Mrs. Ofshinsky or Mr. Von Glahn.
- The audition piece approval deadline is notated on the acceptance letter that students receive during the 1st half of the school year.
- The deadline for this performance is notated on the acceptance letter that students receive during the 1st half of the school year.
- Failure to meet these deadlines may result in removal from the TRI-M organization.
